So Much More Than Books
The Summit library has been transformed into a true media center. In addition to encouraging students to check out and read books, the media center has added tables and seating that allow students to collaborate on projects. In addition, TV monitors have been added that give students the opportunity to project their work on iPads to a big screen for presentations or group projects. The media center has also added a Virtual Reality Lab that allows students to experience a trip to historic sites, a tour of systems of the human body, or the opportunity to create 3D art project.
Finally, a makerspace was established to encourage students to create original projects for coursework or just plain fun. All of these changes have dramatically increased the number of students that use the media center.
