Johnston High School offers hundreds of parking spots for students and require a school-authorized parking tag for its lots. This page is intended to guide parents and students through the parking tag application process.
We are happy to announce our NEW PROCESS for obtaining a school driver’s permit!
There are 3 steps to the new process. Students, you will need to log in with your jdragonmail credentials in order to access the Google Site (instructional video and quiz).
Step 1:
Watch an instructional video with your parent. A parents will need to view the video with you.
The instructional video contains the information that was presented at permit meetings in the past and will now take the place of those meetings. This video is available on YouTube which is currently not available on student iPad so view on an alternate device. Search YouTube for JMS School Permit (2024) then return to this page and go to Step 2- School Permit Quiz signing in with your jdragonmail.
Step 2:
Complete the Online Quiz. One parent will need to watch the video and note that completion on the quiz.
Step 3:
After the quiz has been completed, you can pick up your signed Department of Transportation form in the JHS office any weekday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM.
Students will need a parking tag to park on school grounds during the school year.
Parking tags will be available for $20 when students pick up their DOT form.
Please make sure you have your license plate number and VIN with you at the time of purchase.
Who is Eligible?
As usual, the only students eligible are those who have completed driver’s education and have had their learner’s permit for at least six months.
