THURSDAY-B DAY

BEHAVIOR FOCUS

This week’s behavior focus will be lunch and recess expectations. We want to encourage students to continue to follow these CHAMPS expectations and to focus specifically in the following areas:

  • Always remember to clean up after yourself, if you spill anything on the tables, use the paper towels to clean the spill up. If you spill anything on the floor, find an adult to help you clean the spill.

  • Keep your hands to yourself in the lunchroom and at recess.

  • When recess is over, line up and WALK into the building using the sidewalk.

  • Be respectful when walking in from recess as there are other classes going on.

MATH COUNTS

Come join the MATHCOUNTS CLUB!!!

More than a quarter million students participate in MATHCOUNTS programs or use their resources each year. At Summit, students meet to solve problems and build problem solving skills. They will meet after school every-other week, on Mondays, starting the first week of October in Ms. Lewis’s room #123 in Team Mission. Our first meeting is Oct. 2 from 3:00 to 4:00, and students need to have a ride home at 4:00.

In January, students will begin meeting every week on Mondays after school to get ready for 4 levels of competition. This is open to any student who enjoys problem solving with others in a competitive environment. Our school competition will be in January, a local competition in February, state in March and then the National Competition.

The coaches are Mr. Steve Skinner and Ms. Linda Lewis. Anyone is welcome to join and there are links on the Activities and Clubs Moodle page under MATHCOUNTS.
