SUMMIT MIDDLE SCHOOL GARDEN CLUB
Summit Middle School Garden Club meets Thursday afternoons after school until 3:30. Our time together focuses on learning about vegetable gardening, growing starter plants, harvesting produce during gardening season, fundraising efforts, improving our current garden space, and making a difference in our community (all while having fun and building a friendship network!). The SMS garden donates all of its produce to the Johnston Partnership, with over 800 pounds donated since spring 2021! Come make a direct impact on your community, make some new friends, and develop skills and knowledge you can use your entire life! No experience necessary; all experience levels welcome whether in 6th or 7th grade!
Our first meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 1st right after school in Mission Room 129 (Mrs. Barlow’s room)! Questions?! Please email allison.barlow@johnston.k12.ia.us.
Students who are being picked up at 3:30 can be picked up on the east side of the building. Transportation is not provided by the district.
