THURSDAY-A DAY
GARDEN CLUB
The Summit Middle School Garden Club has a mission of making a difference in our community while providing students the opportunity to connect, have fun, and learn gardening skills! So far this gardening season we have provided over 350 pounds of produce to the Johnston Partnership and our garden is not done yet!
Students get to experience all layers of gardening from bed prepping, weeding, watering, harvesting, etc. In the winter months we have done donation drives for the Partnership, started seeds and planned our garden for spring, and celebrated teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week– we stay busy all year long!
We meet Thursdays from 2:45-3:30 in Mission Room 129. All 6th and 7th graders are welcome, and no gardening experience is necessary! Students planning to attend our first meeting on the 29th should come with shoes and clothes that can get dirty.
Questions?! Please contact Allison Barlow via ParentSquare or at allison.barlow@johnston.k12.ia.us.
