GARDEN CLUB

Do you enjoy gardening (or think you might), helping your community, and making friends?!  Then Summit Garden Club is for you! No gardening experience required and all Summit students are welcome! Meetings will be held on Thursday afternoons after school.

We will work year-round to raise funds and garner donations, prepare, plant, grow, and harvest our Summit garden!  All produce is donated to the Johnston Partnership.  So far this summer, founding member Quinnlyn Schulte has donated 366.4 pounds of produce directly to the Johnston Community!

If you are interested in joining, students can complete this Google Form:https://forms.gle/YgFwHnjofQiNXBYs7

Our first meeting will be Thursday, September 16th from 2:45-3:30 in Mrs. Barlow’s room (Mission Room 129).  If you have any questions, please contact Quinnlyn Schulte at schulte.quinnlyn@jdragonmail.us, or Mrs. Barlow at allison.barlow@jdragonmail.us.

Featured Book of the Week

Miscalculations of Lightning Girl

When Lucy was 8, she got struck by lightning.  That was bad, but it made her a math genius!  Her grandma homeschooled her for 3 years, but she’s finally ready to attend middle school.  This book made the Iowa Children’s Choice list this year, and it’s one of Mrs. McAlister’s recent favorites!
