SPANISH CLUB
¡Bienvenido a Summit Spanish Club!
Are you interested in making friends, learning a new language and exploring world cultures? Are you looking for ways to grow as a leader? Join the Summit Spanish Club! Starting on Tuesday, September 14,Spanish Club will meet every Tuesday from 2:50-3:30 in Miss Meyer’s classroom (238, Odyssey). Spanish Club is 100% in person this year. In order to get a proper head count, please only sign up if you plan to come to the meetings. If you are currently in a fall sport or after-school activity but would like to join later on, please email Miss Meyer at jilian.meyer@johnston.k12.ia.us to be added in the month you can participate.

GARDEN CLUB
Do you enjoy gardening (or think you might), helping your community, and making friends?! Then Summit Garden Club is for you! No gardening experience required and all Summit students are welcome! Meetings will be held on Thursday afternoons after school.
We will work year-round to raise funds and garner donations, prepare, plant, grow, and harvest our Summit garden! All produce is donated to the Johnston Partnership. So far this summer, founding member Quinnlyn Schulte has donated 366.4 pounds of produce directly to the Johnston Community!

Pashmina is a beautiful graphic novel that tells the story of Pri who discovers a magical pashmina in her mother’s things that shows her a glimpse of life in India. Pri really wants to see India for herself and finally convinces her mom to let her go to visit her aunt. There, she is able to truly understand where she comes from and her mother better.
