SEVENTH GRADERS

The JMS Vocal Music staff would like to invite 7th grade students to audition for the 2022-23 school year 8th grade show choir! Auditions will be held at Summit next week Wednesday through Friday, April 27-29. Your student does not need to currently be in choir to audition; however, they will be scheduled for 8th grade choir if selected through the audition process.

The JCSD Show Choir program is strong and one of the best in the nation, and we would love for you to be a part of it!

All audition details can be found in the attached packet. Any questions, please reach out to Mrs. O’Leary (the 8th grade show choir director) at jorie.oleary@johnston.k12.ia.us

SIXTH GRADE SPRING BAND CONCERTS MAY 9

GARDEN CLUB

Garden Club will NOT meet this week or next week. Our next meeting is Thursday, May 12th.

Summit Garden Club is seeking gently used garden tools and supplies.

Last gardening season, the Summit Garden Club was able to donate over 600 pounds of fresh produce to the Johnston Partnership.  Students are seeking to beat that amount this year, but we need your help!  We are seeking donations of gently used gardening tools and supplies.

Items might include garden rakes, weeders, shovels, trowels, spades, pitchforks, cultivators, etc.  If your home is looking to replace your used tools and/or you are looking to make space in your storage, we would gladly take any unused/unwanted garden supplies off your hands.  Please contact Allison Barlow at allison.barlow@johnston.k12.ia.us if you have any questions.  Donations can be brought to the front office.
