Featured Book of the Week:

One of this year’s Iowa Teen Choice nominees, What Lane? By Torrey Maldonado is about Stephen who is mixed race.  He often feels pulled in 2 directions having friends that are white and black each that expect him to act a certain way.  What Lane? is about finding yourself and learning to make choices for yourself (not just what your friends are doing).

PTO UN-FUNDRAISER

What’s Next? 

We are still in this! As of this morning we’ve raised $11,443 between Go Fund Me, checks, and company match. Since we hit the $10,000 mark the staff are going to perform Tik Tok dances this Friday and if we hit $15,000, the teachers will get dunked in a dunk tank during the lunch hours; the kids are pretty excited for these events! Our ultimate goal is $20,000, and if we reach this amount, we won’t have to ask for financial donations for the rest of the year! These funds are used to keep Summit the amazing place we know and love.
