CONGRATULATIONS CROSS COUNTRY

Congratulations to the 7^th Grade Girls’ XC Team for winning the Middle School State Meet on Saturday, and congratulations to Ele Wharton who was the Individual State Champion.  These ladies won every meet they competed in this season, worked hard, and positively represented Summit.

RECESS REMINDER

As the weather turns cooler, please remember your jackets for recess.

GARDEN CLUB

The Garden Club will meet on Thursday after school in Mrs. Barlow’s room (Mission 129).  We will have a guest speaker from Blank Park Zoo to talk about pollinator gardens.  Students should plan to stay until 4:00 if possible so we have ample time with our speaker.

JOHNSTON GOLF PROGRAM

The Johnston Golf program’s Fan Gear Shop is open!  None of these items are required for athletes, but there are a lot of great products available if interested.  Please share the link on social media and spread the word to whomever may be interested.  Nothing better for golfers in the community or fans of the program wearing Dragon Gear!

JOHNSTON WOMEN’S GOLF

Attention Johnston Women’s Golfers.  Please fill out the following form to communicate your intentions for JHS Spring Women’s Golf 2022 (students must fill out the form).  JHS Spring Women’s Golf is for current 9^th-12^thgraders.  However, if numbers allow, current 7^th– 8^th graders may be allowed to join the team for practices and to gain experience.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Coach Hattel at chattel@johnston.k12.ia.us.

October Library Contest             

We had 12 people correctly guess the Book in a Jar!   The correct answer was The Series of Unfortunate Events – Book #3 – The Wide Window.   These 12 people can stop by the library to choose a prize:  Coraline Miller, Vishant Azhaguvel, Brenna Tekippe, Delia Kilborn, Nora Nelson, Emmanuel Ndikurugam, Gabe Frantum, Saanvi Chintamana, Brooke Troyer, Frederick Schuurmann,  Iris Teijido-Rivera, and Caitlyn Robertson.

We drew one name as our grand prize winner and that person is:  Brooke Troyer!
