JMS Winter Giving Campaign!
Instead of the traditional toy drive, JMS Student Council would like to propose a new giving campaign for JMS this winter. We will still be donating items to Blank Children’s Hospital, but we will be focusing on kids who are pre-teens and teens. This is a population that often goes neglected in hospital giving initiatives.
Please bring all items to your PRIDE teacher by Wednesday, December 18th. The PRIDE with the most donation items will get a food prize delivered to their class before winter break!
Below is a list of ideas:
Gift Cards
Tie Bracelet Kits/String
Nail Polish
Face Masks
Fuzzy Socks
Headphones/Ear Bud
Winter Gloves or Scarves
Slippers
Speakers
Water Bottles
Stickers
Soft Blankets
Hand Sanitizer
Card Games or Board Games
Hair Ties and Scrunchies
Tissues
Coloring Pages and Nice Markers
Books and Magazines
Repeat Announcements:
Time to dust off the cookie cutters, get out the sugar, flour and butter to make some holiday cookies. The JMS PTO is coordinating a Cookie Walk for the staff to show our appreciation for all they do for our kids on Monday, December 16. We need 240 dozen cookies, candies or other treats of all flavors, shapes and decorations.
If you do not have the time to bake, then get in touch with Daphne at Stop and Smell the Flours. She does an excellent job, provides parents with a 20% discount, and delivers them directly to the school! You can contact her via text at 515-897-9307 or email her at stopandsmelltheflours@gmail.com. Deadline to order is Friday, December 13.
We also hold a little raffle for the staff to get a chance to win gift cards to some of their favorite places!
