Today (Thursday, December 10) is an ODD B-day. Here’s what our schedule looks like:
Join us for….
This Friday (12/11) during PRIDE (9:17-9:47) please join your class dressed in your BEST FESTIVE ATTIRE! We would love to see your festive sweaters, masks, PJs, hats, glasses, necklaces, earring, scarves, socks, etc. on Friday. A festive virtual background might even enhance your attire. Oh the possibilities. There is even a chance YOU could be voted MOST FESTIVE! Be looking for the Zoom link from your PRIDE teacher soon.
Virtual Game Group TODAY!
While we are in the online setting, feel free to log into our virtual game group via Zoom during your lunch time (12:07-12:35) on Mondays and Thursdays with the counselors. All students are welcome and we will be rotating through a variety of games. Please email Mrs. Moomaw or Mrs. Lunn if you would like the link to Zoom in!

JMS students, we know being home in the online setting can be tough not getting as much social interaction, so we are working on putting together some opportunities to socialize with your teachers & students during this time. Below is a list of different virtual opportunities that we have, we will continue to update it as more gets added. Please email the teacher leading the group if you would like the Zoom link to join! These will all start on Monday!
Mondays- PRIDE (9:20-9:47) Step Tracking with Mrs. Wahl

In an effort to keep moving, students can track their steps throughout the week and we can do weekly challenges to get them either moving outside or standing in place and marching. Also, so a kicker, work on brain teasers or mind puzzles while we move!

Students interested in art will meet to show off new work, learn about different materials they can use, and go on virtual tours of art museums around the world.

Join us during your lunch break to play virtual games and socialize with other students! We will rotate through a series of games like pictionary, blank slate, scavenger hunts, and more!

REPEAT ANNOUNCEMENTS:
9th grade students in a study hall, check your email for an Infinite Campus message in regards to working on 4 year plans during study hall this week. Mrs. Moomaw is holding zoom meetings for individual study halls to answer any questions you may have on finishing up your 4 year plans. Check for an Infinite Campus message on Friday, December 4th for the link, or email Mrs. Moomaw if you cannot find it.
The spring musical this year is Once Upon a Mattress. It is open for students 9-12. If you are interested in auditioning please visit this link to learn more information.
ONCE UPON A MATTRESS AUDITION INFORMATION
ATTENTION SCHOOL PERMIT DRIVERS: We want to keep you safe and legal. REMEMBER YOU CAN ONLY DRIVE TO SCHOOL–you should not be driving to any other location with this permit! Please review the laws/expectations of your School Permit.
USAGE: When can I use my School Permit?

9th grade students who wish to obtain a school driver’s permit can follow the following link: https://www.johnstoncsd.org/school-news/school-drivers-permit-process/
This link will guide them to a Google Site. Students will need to log in with their jdragonmail credentials in order to watch a video and complete a quiz. The video contains the information that was presented at permit meetings in the past and will now take the place of those meetings. One parent will need to watch the video and note that completion on the quiz. As usual, the only students eligible are 9th graders who have completed driver’s education and have had their learner’s permit for at least six months. After the quiz has been completed, students can pick up their signed Department of Transportation form in the JMS Front Office. Students will need a parking tag to park on school grounds during the school year. Parking tags are available for $20 when students pick up their DOT form. Please make sure you have your license plate number with you at the time of purchase.

Attention Johnston Women’s Golfers. Please fill out the following form to communicate your intentions for JHS Spring Women’s Golf 2021 (students must fill out the form). JHS Spring Women’s Golf is for current 9th-12th graders. However, if numbers allow, current 7th- 8th graders may be allowed to join the team for practices and to gain experience.
