Here are the highlights from our JMS swimmers as part of our Regional team:

On Saturday, the Dragons were host to one of the 6 Regional meets held across the state.  We started strong on Thursday night with our divers, and the swimmers kept things rolling today with a stream of amazing time drops throughout the day as they powered to a 2nd place overall finish behind top-ranked Dowling.

In the 200 medley relay, freshman Olivia Swalley was part of the team that finished in 2nd place with a time of 1:48.73.  Their effort qualified them for STATE, and they go into the meet seeded in 5th.

In the 200 freestyle, Leyla Kazazic finished in 15th place with a 2:07.81 and had a season best time.

In the 200 Individual medley, Grace Anderson finished in 8th with a 2:20.80.  Olivia Frantum finished in 5th with a 2:13.92, and Olivia Swalley earned 2nd place with a 2:09.67.  Both Olivia’s had pre-qualified for the State meet earlier in the season. Olivia Frantum goes into the State meet seeded in 19th position, and Olivia Swalley is seeded 8th for next weekend.  Both Grace and Swalley had lifetime best times.

In the 500 freestyle, Leyla Kazazic finished in 11th place with a 5:37.73 and a season best time.  Olivia Frantum picked up the 6th place position with a 5:23.09. Olivia had achieved an automatic cut time earlier this season, and is headed to State.  She is seeded in 10th.

In the 200 free relay, freshman Olivia Swalley and Olivia Frantum were part of the team that went a 1:42.41 for a 5th place finish.  The team has qualified for State, and go into the meet seeded in 21st position. Olivia Swalley had a season best swim.

In the 100 backstroke, Grace Anderson went a 1:03.14 for a 9th place finish for a lifetime best swim.

In the 100 breaststroke, Lydia Yeutsy finished in 11th with a 1:12.77, and Olivia Swalley earned the runner-up spot with a 1:06.08.  Olivia had pre-qualified for State, and she goes into the meet seeded in 3rd. all had season best swims.

In the 400 freestyle relay, Olivia Frantum  was part of the relay that went a 3:43.82 to pickup a 4th place finish.  They have qualified for State, and go into the meet seeded in 18th.

These ladies swam their hearts out today, and the coaches are all SO proud of each of them, and the SUCCESS of their achievements!  They definitely found their “Super Swimmers” inside.
