Congratulations to the following 8th Grade Band Students for their successful audition and acceptance into the 2019 SCIBA Honor Band Festival:

They will represent JMS at the SCIBA Honor Band Festival on Tuesday, November 5th.


 

Repeat Announcements:

Any 7th or 8th Grader interested in going out for Wrestling will need to sign up on this google form https://forms.gle/gDtjXRERhyCkEG318.

Practice will begin October 17th after school @ the JMS wrestling room. Bring clothes to practice in as well as your wrestling shoes.  If you have head gear bring those as well. Your parents will need to sign you up by uploading your physical and signing the concussion form and good conduct policy through the school website @ https://johnstoncsd-ar.rschooltoday.com/.  Please fill out all information before the first practice on the 17th.

Friends of Johnston ELP is proud to host Dr. Krista Brittain, Psy.D. Clinical Psychologist to our first parent program of the school year.  She will be speaking to our families about managing perfectionism. Please mark your calendars we would love for you to join us this Monday, October 7th!

Anime Club will have our next meeting on Monday, October 7th from 3-4pm in Ms. Croat’s room 103. We will be voting on leadership at this meeting, so try to attend if you can. Email Ms. Croat with any questions at brook.croat@jdragonmail.us


 

If you did not get your school photo taken, Picture Re-Take Day is October 11!

If you have something wrong with your photos and need them re-taken, keep your packets and turn those in to the photographers on Picture Re-Take Day. You must keep their photo packets! Spring Picture Day is the only time you will return your packets to the office if you don’t like them.

SCHOOL PERMIT MEETING: Attention 9th Grade Students! Our next School Permit Meeting will be Tuesday, October 8 at 3:15 PM in the Cafeteria of Johnston Middle School (enter through front entrance). The ONLY students eligible are 9th grade students who HAVE HAD THEIR LEARNERS’ PERMIT FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS AND HAVE COMPLETED DRIVER’S ED. THE STUDENT AND A PARENT MUST ATTEND THE MEETING! Please bring your completed Driver’s Education Certificate (if you have a paper version – if you do not have a paper version don’t worry about it) and learner’s permit to the meeting. Parking Tags will be available for $20 during the meeting. Students will need a parking tag to park on school grounds during the school year. Please make sure you have your license plate number with you at the time of purchase. If you have NOT completed Driver’s Ed by the meeting date, we will have another meeting next month. Be watching your announcements for the date and time!


 

JOHNSTON WRESTLING CLUB
