Congratulations Men’s Golf at State!!
JHS Men’s Golf team took runner up at the state golf tournament today — and Owen Howe took first place in the individual competition! It was the first time in Johnston history for an individual state golf championship. Amazing!
JHS Volleyball team went 5-0 on Saturday without dropping a set to win the Cedar Rapids Prairie Invite. That gives the ladies a record of 25-6 heading in to their next match on Tuesday at Southest Polk. Congratulations!
A dozen Johnston students and alumni are involved in this year’s Penguin Project, “Disney’s High School Musical Jr.,” at the Des Moines Playhouse. The Penguin Project allows young people with disabilities to perform a shortened version of a play. Each actor has a mentor. Performances will be held Oct. 13-15. Dragon Scholarship Fund Fundraiser
Welcome to the new school year! For those that don’t know, Dragon Scholarship Fund provides EVERY JHS senior that applies financial assistance as they continue their education beyond high school. We raise money in the community throughout the year to fund the need. The class of 2023 received close to $100k in financial assistance. We believe everyone deserves a chance to earn a scholarship, regardless of class rank, financial need, gender, race, creed, or ability.
