The JHS/DCG bowling season is off to a good start!
Today took the JHS/DCG bowlers to Ankeny where the Varsity Boys won by 12, Varsity Girls by 129 and the JV Boys by 184. The next meet versus Ames will be 3:00 Tuesday, December 5th at Gameday.
Congratulations to our JHS Dance Team for their performances at state this week! The team received division I ratings in all three routines and 3rd place overall in Class III contemporary!
AWESOME OPPORTUNITY FOR KINESIOLOGY STUDENTS AT JHS!!
Students in the JHS Kinesiology class this week took a field trip to Power Lift and Iowa State University Stark Performance Center. Students learned about career and educational opportunities within the sports performance, sports science, sports medicine and sports equipment fields. They toured Power Lift’s headquarters and manufacturing facility. Power Lift is a leader in the strength equipment industries. Power Lift designs, engineers, manufacturers & sell strength training equipment to over 2700 clients worldwide wide. Students also toured The Stark Performance Center at Iowa State University. Students learn about how exercise & science, sports performance, nutrition, dietetics and sports medicine. They learned new and emerging science and technology utilized for Iowa State Athletics. GREAT JOB MADRIGAL PERFORMERS!!
Johnston High School students gave their final performance tonight of the 44th Annual JHS Madrigal, “Snow White & the Seven Sprites.” Since 1979, the JHS choirs have presented the Madrigal at the beginning of each holiday season, taking audience members back to Merrie Olde England, circa 1475. A delightful event surrounding the audience with songs of the season.

A packed house for our basketball home opener against Ankeny tonight! Great games; girls won 70-49 and boys lost 51-45. And Johnston Basketball Club third-grade girls got to play during halftime. Thanks to everyone for coming!

JHS cheerleaders Raven Parizek, Ella Boes & Elizabeth Pouliot will be taking their spirit to Hawaii! They tried out for the Varsity Spirit All-American Program and were selected to join cheerleaders across the nation in performing Dec. 7 at the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade in Honolulu. Go Dragons!
