  • ONE HOUR EARLY OUT Wednesday at 1:50pm
  • CROSS COUNTRY INFORMATION: The MS XC Meet at Camp Dodge has been cancelled.  Both boys and girls will still have practice.
  • TENNIS CANCELLED TODAY: SAS Tennis has been cancelled today due to wet courts. A make-up will be scheduled at a later date. Please email jon.gibbs@johnston.k12.ia.us with any questions.
  • TENNIS BUS: Tennis students will be riding Bus 100/Sport. It is the 2nd bus on the south side of the building.

  • SIXTH GRADE SOCIAL: There will be a 6th Grade Social on Friday, September 13 from 2:50 – 4:00 PM.   Tickets can be purchased during lunch on Thursday and Friday for $2 each.  Students can dance, play board games, or play basketball in the gym. The concession stand will be open to purchase pizza, pop, water and candy. Make sure your ride is at Summit by 4:00 PM.
  • JOHNSTON WRESTLING CLUB: Sign Up for the Johnston Wrestling Club Today!   All K-8 students are encouraged to join.  Practices start in November and registration can be done any time at:  www.johnstonwrestlingclub.com

  • SCHOOL CLIMATE COMMITTEE: School Climate Committee applications are now available on your school counselor’s office door (Mrs. Heston-6th and Mrs. Brock-7th). Please consider applying if you are a student who would like to be involved in building a positive culture at Summit that is welcoming for all students. The school climate committee plans various building and community activities throughout the year to help spread positivity. Applications are due on Friday, September 13th. Please see Mrs. Heston or Mrs. Brock with any questions.
