State Golf Tournament
The JHS Men’s Golf Team will be competing at the State Tournament at Des Moines Golf and Country Club. Tee times will start at 10:30am on Friday and will start at 9:00am on Saturday. The State Tournament is free to attend. The Dragons are entering the state tournament winning their District Meet on Monday and with a 60-5 record. 7th Grade Student Leaders
There will be a meeting for Purple Student Leaders on Tuesday, October 13th at 7:00 AM in the Summit library. Gold Student Leaders will meet on Friday, October 16th at 7:00 AM in the Summit Library. Please enter through the front lobby doors.
Online 7th Grade Student Leaders will meet on Tuesday, October 13th at 3:15 PM via Zoom. Zoom link is on the calendar.

Featured Book of the Week:
House Arrest by K.A. Holt is a story told in verse. Timothy made a mistake and stole a wallet at a gas station. He did it for a good reason – to get money to buy medicine for his baby brother who is very sick. However, it was still wrong to steal and his punishment is one year of house arrest. Read this book to find out how this goes and what Timothy does to continue to try to help his brother get the treatment he needs.
Join the Summit Spanish Club!
It’s not too late to join the Summit Spanish Club! This club is open to all 6th and 7th grade students and does not require previous experience with Spanish. Learn Spanish phrases and experience Spanish speaking cultures through music, games, sports, food, movies and more. The next meeting is Tuesday, October 20 from 3:30-4:00 via Zoom. Sign up for 7/8 Grade Wrestling
Any 7th grader wishing to wrestle this year, should sign up at the link below this message. It’s important to have an updated physical (see expiration dates on link), and to fill out all the information at the sign up link. We are looking forward to an exciting season, and we welcome all 7th graders, new to the sport and experienced to join the team! If any Summit students or parents have questions, they can reach out to Coach Tecklenburg (JHS head coach, but teaches at Summit) or head middle school coach Joe Huebbe. MATH COUNTS

Math Counts is an opportunity to challenge yourself in Math problem solving and to compete against other schools in
6-8th grade across the state.
