Announcements-Friday, Sept. 4th-B Day

Welcome Back

Welcome back to school, students. Please remember to check your email for important announcements each day.

From the Library

It’s been great having kids back in the building again and getting books in your hands!!  Remember if you place a hold for delivery and need it right away, make sure it has a green “IN” flag on the corner of the book.  You can place holds on books that are out, but you will have to wait until they are returned to get them.

Follow us on Instagram-  @jcsd_smslibrary    You’ll be the first to see new arrivals, read book review, and learn about any special things happening in our library!

Featured Book from the Summit Library

Black Brother, Black Brother by Jewell Parker Rhodes is about twin 12-year old boys.  They have a white dad and a black mom, and although they are twins, Donte’s skin color is darker than Trey’s skin.  This book examines how differently they are treated in society, and how Donte takes up competitive fencing and gains self-confidence and the ability to stand up for himself not only to classmates, but people in authority as well.
