IOWA HISTORY DAY

Congratulations to Summit Middle School students who competed at the Iowa History Day Merle Hay District Contest and who have qualified for the State of Iowa History Day Virtual State Contest on April 15.  Students will utilize judge’s comments and continue to hone and craft their work as they prepare for the State Contest.  Best of luck to all below as they continue on their History Day journey!

PERSONAL CARE ITEMS AND CANNED FOOD DRIVE

Summit Middle School is now collecting donations for the Food Bank of Iowa! There are boxes outside of every community that you can put your donations in. Examples of donations include toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, soap, band-aids, hand sanitizer, first aid supplies, and canned foods. Community Fill-Up Challenge

We are challenging each community to fill up their donation boxes by April 16th! Each community that fills up their box by April 16th will receive a couple big bags of candy!

Featured Book of the Week

The Goldfish Boy is about a boy named Matthew who spends most of his time in his bedroom.  He has severe OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) which makes it very hard to leave his room; he is especially concerned about germs.  But when the 5 year old grandson of his next door neighbor goes missing, Matthew might have the information needed to figure out what happened.  Can Matthew solve the mystery?  Will he leave his room to do so?  Read to find out!
