JHS students recognized for “Stepping Toward Success”
JOHNSTON, Ia. (May 12, 2022) — Eleven Johnson High School seniors were honored this week at the sixth annual Stepping Toward Success banquet.
This banquet is held to recognize students who were nominated by a faculty member for improving or maintaining excellence in their academics, behavior, attendance or overall citizenship. Frequently, many of our recipients have had to overcome obstacles in their lives to turn things around.
This banquet allows Johnston High School to acknowledge students’ personal achievements and success. Not only are the students recognized, but also a staff member who the student believes has helped them be successful.
This year’s recipients are, from left to right: Front row: Alexa Byers, Hailey Bowlin, Lal Mawii, Lynzie Dixson and Payton Fisher. Back row: Ethan Rodine, Belmin Mrzljac, Ben Cave, Rosella Kabamba, Benether Suah, and Leilah Sturgeon.
