Spring Sports Teams Honored for Academic Achievements

The Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union & The Iowa High School Athletic Association recognizes those teams and cheerleading squads which collectively have excelled in the classroom. Each student-athlete on the team will receive a certificate for their personal accomplishment, and the achievement will go on record at the respective associations.

There are two awards which may be earned:

  • Excellence in Academic Achievement Award
    • This award will be given to teams achieving a combined grade point average of 3.0-3.24.
  • Distinguished in Academic Achievement Award
    • This award will be given to teams achieving a combined grade point average of 3.25 and above.

Congratulations to:

  • Varsity Girls Golf, earning a team cumulative GPA of 3.779 and receiving the Distinguished in Academic Achievement Award
  • Varsity Boys Soccer, earning a team cumulative GPA of 3.501 and receiving the Distinguished in Academic Achievement Award
  • Varsity Girls Soccer, earning a team cumulative GPA of 3.81 and receiving the Distinguished in Academic Achievement Award
  • Varsity Boys Tennis, earning a team cumulative GPA of 3.634 and receiving the Distinguished in Academic Achievement Award
  • Varsity Girls Tennis, earning a team cumulative GPA of 3.864 and receiving the Distinguished in Academic Achievement Award
  • Varsity Boys Track & Field, earning a team cumulative GPA of 3.3813 and receiving the Distinguished in Academic Achievement Award
  • Varsity Girls Track & Field, earning a team cumulative GPA of 3.625 and receiving the Distinguished in Academic Achievement Award
