Two JCSD Robotics team reach FIRST Tech Challenge Super Regional!
Congratulations to JCSD’s FIRST Tech Challenge robotics teams, Live Wires and Disco Duckbots for a fantastic League Championship this past weekend at Nevada High School. The teams finished their preliminary robotic rounds ranked 7th and 10th respectively and were paired together as the Fourth Alliance. In a huge upset, the two Johnston teams beat the First Place Alliance teams 2-0 in a best of three competition. The all-Johnston (both rookie teams) then went on to the finals to face the 2nd Place Alliance teams and ultimately fell in defeat 2-1. With such a strong showing, Live Wires and Disco Duckbots were both chosen to advance on to the Super Regional at John Deere Financial.
Also advancing from Johnston, are two community-based teams, T.H.O.R. and Team Thunder. T.H.O.R. won the Inspire Award and Team Thunder won the Control Award.
