Superintendent Search Listening Forums Happen in December
During the 2018-19 academic year, Laura Kacer is serving as Interim Superintendent of the Johnston Community School District, in addition to her duties as Director of Human Resources.
The Johnston school board is currently evaluating the various options available in regards to the selection of a permanent superintendent. This work will continue throughout the remainder of 2018. In January, the selection process will begin in earnest, with the goal to have a permanent superintendent identified and hired no later than March 15, 2019.
The community is encouraged to be a part of this selection process. A total of five staff and community forums, plus an additional forum specifically for students, have been scheduled in early December. All forums will be moderated by Heartland AEA staff.
Each forum is geared toward a specific audience; however, all are open to whomever can come on a given date/time.
- Monday, Dec. 3 @ Summit Cafetorium; 4:15 p.m. for staff and 5:30 p.m. for administrators
- Tuesday, Dec. 4 @ JHS; 7 a.m. for students ONLY
- Wednesday, Dec. 5 @ Wallace Auditorium; 5:30 p.m. for staff and 7 p.m. for parents/community
- Monday, Dec. 10 @ Administrative Resource Center board room; 5 p.m. for parents/community
