“We Are Art” night displays talents of EBCE students
As the school year draws to a close, there are multiple ceremonies and functions aimed at celebrating student success. This year, a new event has been added to the list and it’s not just another awards ceremony. Instead, it will celebrate students in the Johnston High School EBCE (Experience Based Career Education) through a night of purpose through stories, poetry, music and friendship.
The JHS EBCE students will be holding the first “We Are Art” night on Friday, May 4, 2018 in the Johnston High School auditorium. The event starts at 7 p.m. and will last about an hour. It is open to the public.
Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased at the JHS north auditorium entrance ticket office the night of the event. For a $10.00 donation, you also get a mini Moonboy made by EBCE students. The “We Are Art” night is a fundraiser for EBCE students, practicing living, learning and working skills in the community. No student art will be for sale/sold at the event.
The JHS Best Buddies chapter has partnered with the EBCE class to celebrate students creating themselves as their own masterpieces. Regardless of where students come from, what they may look like, or how they may learn, this night is intended to celebrate one another, knowing “WE ARE ART!”
