JHS Spain Spring Break Informational Meeting
Submitted by JHS Spanish teacher Peggy Fox
The community around us has never been more global. Johnston High School students who have studied Spanish or are interested in the Spanish culture are encouraged to attend an informational meeting, hosted by JHS Spanish teacher Peggy Fox.
In response to the interest of many students in learning more about the language and culture they are studying, there will be a special informational meeting for students and parents on Thursday, May 18 OR Tuesday, May 23 at Johnston High School. At the meeting, two possibilities offering valuable cultural experiences will be discussed:
1) Trip to Spain during Spring Break 2018! Students will travel to Barcelona, Madrid and best of all, stay with Spanish host families for five days! A program abroad gives the opportunity to be immersed in the culture and practice the language in a real way. JHS Spanish teacher Peggy Fox will discuss the type of program, dates, cost, and answer any questions you may have.
2) For students who may not be able to go abroad (and also for those who can), information will be shared on the possibility of hosting a foreign exchange student for three to four weeks this summer. Hosting is a wonderful opportunity for the whole family to create an international friendship and learn more about another culture.
