Piloted Scheduling Beginning March 27 through April 7
By Rylee Robinson
Starting next week from March 27 through April 7, Johnston High School and Johnston Middle School students will be piloting a new schedule of 80 minute class periods on Wednesday and Thursday with regular eight-period scheduling on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.
This pilot schedule is taking place in order to look at possible changes for the new Johnston High School and Johnston Middle School buildings. Regular scheduling will return April 10 and following the pilot, the school administrators will gather feedback from the students and staff.
Benefits of the longer class periods include opening up time for classes to get in deeper discussions and projects. Questions related to the block scheduling or other scheduling changes can be directed toward the school principals, Ryan Woods at Johnston High School and Brent Riessen at Johnston Middle School.
