Scholarship Fund Phone-a-thon in November
Submitted by the Dragon Scholarship Fund, a division of the Johnston Community School Foundation.
“Don’t Hang Up!!”
Every year the Dragon Scholarship Fund raises funds to provide scholarship money to graduating students that are furthering their education (upon timely completion of application paperwork). Last year, Dragon Scholarship Fund awarded more than $103,000 in scholarship money to more than 250 students!
Johnston High School National Honor Society students will conduct our annual phone-a-thon on November 13, 14, 20 and 21 – between the hours of 6 and 8:30 p.m. The students will be phoning to ask for pledges from DuPont Pioneer – who generously permit the Dragon Scholarship Fund to utilize their phone-bank for this giving campaign. As many families now have Caller ID and are curious about unexpected calls coming in from a Pioneer number on one of those nights, please take the time to answer the call. If you do not want to be on the calling list in future, please use that opportunity to ask that your name be removed from the list.
Our annual phone-a-thon is our largest fundraiser of the year. Since we began in 1987, we have helped over 4,000 students and awarded over $1,200,000. Thank you so much Johnston families!
So, we really need your help… please don’t hang up, answer the phone, it will probably take about 1-2 minutes of your time, but it will mean a tremendous amount to our students in Johnston. This is also an excellent opportunity for you to talk with one of our seniors who are volunteering their time to make the calls.
