What is it?
Title 1D; Subpart 2: Neglected and Delinquent (also called the Prevention and Intervention Programs for Children and Youth Who are Neglected, Delinquent, or At-Risk) provides financial assistance to provide high quality education programs to prepare children and youth for secondary school completion, training, employment, or further education. It also is designed to provide children and youth who are neglected or delinquent with services to that they can successfully transition from correctional programs to further schooling or employment; and prevent youth from dropping out.
How Does JCSD Use Title IIA?
Title 1D; Subpart 2: Neglected and Delinquent provides financial supports to the school we support housed at the Youth Homes of Mid-America including:
- Partially funding staff salaries that are focused on transitional programming for the youth as they enter and exit the Youth Homes of Mid-America
- Help funding the special programs to meet the unique needs of participating youth, with a focus on career counseling, credit recovery to help put them on a path to graduation, and transitions
